What a wonderful site!!! I stumbled it by acciden
today while feeling "nostalgic" about Detroit area and growing
up there. I loved Sir Ghastly show and watched it every Saturday
morning. You've done an incredibly fantastic job, and the creepy
wind blowing is still giving me chills as i'm signing the guest
book. |

I can't tell you how great it was to find this site.
I just about cried seening those old gates again. I've told my
friends and my girlfriend about Sir Graves a lot since I have
lived in my new location. Now I can show them what my Saturdays
were like as a kid in Metro Detroit (Taylor, Wyandotte, Southgate,
Lincoln Park)durring the 70's and 80's. It was Sir Graves durring
the day and The Goul at night. Your site has brought back many
memeories for me. The T.V. Guide listings are fantastic!! With
the links to IMDB I can now expand my DVD and VHS collection
with memories! It makes me wish I had more to contribute than
just comments. Robert Dodson |

The name Sir Graves came to mind this morning, so
I typed it in a search mode. That brought me to this websight.
I've spent all day reading it. The Saturday afternoons I enjoyed
as a kid always looking for the show to air, and the disapointments
if it didn't, all came flooding back. It sure would be nice to
show them as reruns now. Thank You Mr. Deming |

Sir Graves was a staple for our weekend movie watching.
My brother and I were big monster/SciFi fands as kids. We never
imagined there were cities without someone like Sir Graves to
entertain us in the 60's. |

Just a couple words, Keith you have done a great
job putting this site together. I am a long time fan of Graves
(as his alter ego Walter use to call him.) I have an Idea about
finding footage of the show, I'm thinking Fox 2 should still
have some in their tape archives. If so, maybe they will donate
footage to you. It would be great to take some of the footage
and create a Sir Graves Ghastly double feature show! Think about
Keith!- Greg |

I never missed a Saturday episode of "Sir Graves
Ghastly"! I would look forward to it every week. I also was a
proud member of his fan club and still have a postcard he sent
me that read: "Violets are Blue, Roses are Red, Fans like you
drive me out of my head! Happy Haunting! Sir Graves Ghastly" Great
site, thanks for stirring up a favorite childhood memory! |

Modern telivision shows produce memorable lines,
but only those who grew up with Sir Graves are lucky enough to
know "The Laugh". That is ours. |

I miraculously came across your website by shire
circumstance & was brought to tears. I was a massive fan while
growing up in the late sixties & seventies. I was abused physically & emotionally & Sir
Graves offered my only bit of escapism. I diligently awaited
every show. Since then I've changed my name & identity,
travelled the globe & become prominent in what I do. Many occassions
I've thought to possibly secure the entire series from WJBK-CBS.
Currently I have homes in London & Japan & just today was able
to reclaim the lone bright spot of my youth to share with my
partner & 1yr old child. I'm extremely grateful, thank you so
much for your gift & may god forever bless Mr. Deming & his family! |

In the early '80s, I appeared with Sir Graves at
a function in my apartment complex. (They had these elaborate
parties and spent a few bucks.) I was dressed as Darth Vader,
so I had these 8" elevators in my boots! Needless to say, I towered
over poor ol' Sir Graves, and stood eye-to-eye with one of the
Pistons who was also there. Unfortunately, I was totally encased
in that costume, so no autographs for me! But I'll never forget
it. The man is a force (no pun intended) and was quite gracious.
I'm glad to see he's still around and happy! A huge THANK YOU
for the many hours of laughs and entertainment!!! |

What a great site. My brother, father and myself
were trying to think of the name of the guy who did the Saturday
afternoon horror movies. We all thought it was Count something
or another. So, I was so happy when I Googled "detroit tv vampire
host" and this was the site that came up. Sir Graves Ghastly!
Excellent site. I too have such great memories of watching the
show with my mom on the weekends. I will be 30 soon, so I remember
faithfully watching every week. I wish something like this still
existed. I do have a friend from Petoskey, MI, and he said there
was a Count doing Saturday afternoon shows in northern Michigan
also. Thanks so much for doing a site like this. It is great
to be able to relive my childhood a little!! Rachael Molino Cedarville,

I had the pleasure of working with Sir Graves many
years ago with the Mount Clemens Symphony Orchestra. I can remember
Sir Graves conducting Gounod's Funeral March of A Marionette
(Which was the theme of the Alfred Hitchock Presents show on
CBS). Sir Graves was a very nice gentleman, he was so very kind,
and I was fortunate to offer a bit of conducting advice to him. |

Dear Sir, as I sit here at my desk waiting for the
work day to end, I found myself wondering what ever became of
my favorite Saturday afternoon movie host. I typed in "sir Graves" and
to my pleasant suprise there you were. Just as I remembered.
Thank you so very much for making me scared back then as a little
kid and helping make me smile now as an adult. You are the best!! |

Dear Sir Graves, I grew up in the suburbs of Detroit
in the '70's, I am in Los Angeles now and I absolutley loved
your show. I am so glad this site was created, as I am still
a fan of the old horror flicks. I saw you once in person doing
something for the Jerry Lewis Muscular Dystrophy Telethon at
a mall in the Detroit area. You were helping raise money and
I will never forget how great it was as a kid to see you in person.
It is a damned shame none of those shows exist any more. They
could be aired again or put on DVD. Kids today are missing out,
my generation was the last of the lucky ones to have been influenced
by the likes of you! That was classic TV for sure! Take care
and Happy Hauntings! James Partipilo |

I remember. Funny how I drifted away from Sir Graves
in the late 60's or early 70's and now buy the films he showed.
Movies aside, I would rather have the total presentation. Great
site. |

I remember when my elementary school class took a
tour through the CBS studios. When we stepped onto the Sir Graves
set we were in awe. We all watched him every Saturday morning
and "Neee-aaagh-agh-agh" was part of our vocabulary. We couldn't
believe that the tour guide would actually let us look inside
his coffin so we walked over kind of slow, expecting him to call
us back at any moment. It was just as we reached the edge of
the coffin and started to get on our tiptoes to try and see inside
that the engineer (or whoever they got) popped up in Sir Graves'
cape and makeup and scared the heck out of us. (I think the loss
of local programming is one of the real tragedies of broadcasting
today.) Sir Graves Ghastly was a wonderful part of my life as
a child. Thank you for putting the time in to this site to remind
me of why. |
