Sir Graves Ghastly is Detroit's odd vampire out. Lawson Deming, who presided over Channel 2's Saturday afternoon scary movies for 16 years, won't anymore. "Mr. Flynn (WJBK-TV's general manager Bill) didn't renew my contract, as he didn't so many others," said Deming Wednesday from his home in Cleveland. "I never could figure out why he'd dump me. We had the highest rated show in the afternoon, and it was a money-maker for them. We never had any conversations at all." Not so, said Marianne Mazer, Channel 2 programming co-ordinator, in the absence of vacationing Flynn: "There were conversations." Deming's now heard -- but not seen -- as an announcer on WJKW- TV, the Storer station in Cleveland.
